Asif Ghayaz begun to exhibit his pen & ink sketches in the early 90s. At that time he mainly produced sketches of men, women, and the design of architectural pre and colonial landmark of Pakistan. Since then he has broadened his horizons to oil on canvas as well, depicting realistic landscapes, cityscapes and semi abstract nature. His life size figures of women, which are produced using pen & ink exemplifies his capacity to capture such vivid details. As one of the best students of Iqbal Mehdi, he retains many techniques of his mentor and at times it is hard to discern the work of two.
